Laser Quest: Location and Price change

Laser Quest: Location and Price change

Laser Quest was chosen as the students’ place of choice.
We posted about Laser Quest at the Horizon Fun FX, however we had to change the place because of a scheduling issue. We are going to a place called “Laser Quest” instead. This is an optional field trip since we are going to Laser Quest after class. We will leave the campus at 1:30 pm and come back around 4:30pm. Laser Quest is $8.50/game but there will be a discount if we play 3 games. Three games cost $19.95/person. Each game is about 20-25minutes. We can play Laser Quest as a team or individuals. In each game there are also other players playing Laser Quest there so we can play against other individuals if we want to.

If you sign up for this trip, it is your responsibility to pay for Laser Quest and the other games on that day. Your reading and writing teacher will ask you if you want to go to this trip or not one last time.

Need more Information? Click the website below.

Please post about the trip to the Seneca Park Zoo by Tuesday the 26th midnight.
If you haven’t posted about the trip to Turning Point Park, please post it as well.

Students' Place of Choice!

Students’ place of choice

Based on our students’ vote, we choose TWO places: Seneca Park Zoo and Laser Quest

Schedules and details for these trips:

Friday the 22nd  , 10 am -1pm  Seneca Park Zoo
This coming Friday, we will go to Seneca Park Zoo as a whole class. While you are at the zoo, you will do a scavenger hunt to find some clues and answer some questions about animals in the zoo. We will leave the school at 10 am and come back by 1pm. The admission ticket is $10 per person. It is your responsibility to pay the admission. This is a mandatory field trip but if there is any reasons that you can’t attend this trip, please let Linda know as soon as possible.

Need more Information? Click the website below.

Wednesday the 27th  , 1pm -4pm Laser Quest
Since Laser Quest opens at noon, this trip takes place on Wednesday the 27th from 1pm to 4pm.
This trip is an optional field trip since it is scheduled after class. If you are interested in attending this trip, you must sign up on Friday the 22nd. The van will leave the campus at 1 pm and we will be back by 4pm. Laser Quest costs $3.75 for 10 minutes per game. The place has other attractions besides Laser Quest, so if you are not interested in Laser Quest, there will be other things you can play and have a good time. If you sign up for this trip, it is your responsibility to pay for the Laser Quest and the other games on that day.

Need more Information? Click the website below.

If you have any questions about these field trips, please let the teachers know.

Thanks.

Students' Place of Choice!

Students’ place of choice!
Where would you like to visit in Rochester???

Please read your classmates’ blog post about “Places in Rochester”, decide where you want to go and vote. Please read following information before you decide on the place where you want to go in Rochester.

  1.  If you choose a place that costs money for admission, fees or foods, you are responsible for paying whatever it costs for that day.
  2. Depending on the activity or places, ALI needs to make a reservation to go to those places. If we choose a place that requires a reservation, the students’ place of choice will be held next Friday the 22nd
  3. Depending on the result, instructors may arrange some other place to visit before or after we go to the students’ place of choice for time’s sake.
  4. Because of liability issues we cannot go skydiving as a class.

Once you read the information above, please vote for the two places where you want to go in Rochester by Wednesday the 13th. The poll will be closed on Wednesday the 13th at midnight.

How to vote: you just need to click the two places you want to go, then click "vote".

We will post about the result sometime Thursday the 14th so that you will know what we are going to do this Friday. If you have any questions, please let us know!

The Rochester Public Market

Are you interested in going to the Rochester Public Market
 this Saturday?

The Public Market is a place where many vendors/farmers sell vegetables, fruits and more. Rochester’s Public Market was nominated as America’s favorite farmers market in 2010!  The Public Market is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturdays from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. year-round.  Especially during the summer, the Market becomes a very lively and interesting place to visit. You can buy different kinds of fresh vegetable and fruits, deli products, flowers and more for reasonable prices. It is a cool place to check out if you live in Rochester!!

If you are interested in going, please email Shizuka
hardyshizuka@gmail.com

We will meet Nazareth College campus this Saturday the 16th at 9 am and go to the Public Market together! We will drive you to the Market and take you back to campus after the market. At the market, you will have a time to have breakfast or shop from fresh vegetables to flowers! Please bring cash to buy things since there are not so many venders who accept credit cards.  This is about a 2 and a half hour activity.

If you are interested, check http://www.cityofrochester.gov/publicmarket/
